The album will feature several collaborations with many legendary artists, and the pop star has already revealed the full tracklist. Plastic Hearts transpires the 80s, as much musically as in imagery. If you're curious about what else Cyrus has up her sleeve for Plastic Hearts, you've come to the right place. Zombie (Live from the NIVA Save Our Stages Festival) Miley Cyrus. The singer also gave fans two cover songs a version of Blondie's "Heart of Glass" and a rendition of The Cranberries' "Zombie." If the covers are any indication, Plastic Hearts will diverge from Cyrus' 2017 pop country album, Younger Now, and will offer fans a more disco-inspired, rock-and-roll sound. Heart Of Glass (Live from the iHeart Festival) Miley Cyrus. "I lost my house in a fire but found myself in its ashes," she wrote.Ĭyrus has already released five tracks from the highly anticipated record, the latest being a collaboration with Dua Lipa called "Prisoner." The edgy new single arrived just a few weeks after Cyrus released "Edge of Midnight" featuring Stevie Nicks, which is a remix of her song "Midnight Sky" that dropped in August. Reflecting on how the album has been two years in the making, Cyrus explained in the caption that much of the initial body of work was destroyed along with her Malibu home during the 2018 California wildfires. 27, which Cyrus revealed in an emotional Instagram post in late October. It’s a versatile mix when it comes to cooking. However, there are many recipes and treats you can make: cornbread muffins, pot pie toppers, cornbread pudding, corn dogs, cornbread stuffing, cornmeal pancakes, apple cornbread crisp, savory cornbread casserole, jalapeño cornbread poppers, cornbread pizza crust, cornbread biscuits, cornbread chicken tenders. You can, of course, follow the instructions to make a standard cornbread with your mix. If you prefer sweeter cornbread, consider adding some sugar. You can also add things like cheese, herbs, spices, and more to give the mix additional flavor. Vegetable oil can also add more moisture. Honey can give your cornbread a beautiful golden sheen and a bit more sweetness. While these cornbread mixes taste great if you make them as instructed (usually with a combo of milk, eggs, butter, or oil), some bakers prefer to add a few additional ingredients to elevate the flavor or texture. Finish your cornbread straight out of the oven with a honey-butter glaze. Add cheese, freshly sliced jalapenos, or diced bell peppers to the mix. Consider substituting full-fat yogurt, sour cream, or buttermilk for the milk. A few mixes require a little extra, like canned corn.Īfter you find the mix that you like best, you can begin to play with the ingredients and mix-ins to further customize your cornbread. Typically, those ingredients are eggs, milk, butter or oil, and occasionally water. Like most boxed mixes, you’ll need to provide a few extra ingredients to bring it all together. Some mixes contain dehydrated animal fats (like lard) or are processed with dairy products (like dehydrated buttermilk or cheese). Also, while most cornbread mixes have few ingredients, don’t assume they’re vegetarian or even vegan. Most mixes include flour, so be sure to look for a mix specifically labeled “gluten-free” if that’s something you want. While the main ingredient in cornbread would seem to be corn, cornbread is not an inherently gluten-free bread product. Most cornbread mixes are easily doubled or tripled if you find you’d like to make a larger batch. Check the recommended pan size, and do a quick mental calculation of how many portions each person will reasonably go for. Several cornbread mixes are easily suited for 4-6 servings, while others are measured out for the whole neighborhood. Whether it’s a simple chili dinner at home, a backyard cookout, or an elaborate Thanksgiving dinner, you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of cornbread to go around. What to Look for When Buying Cornbread Mix For a cornbread mix that is cakey but isn't too sweet and tastes like it was made right in a southern state, we recommend the Krusteaz Southern Cornbread and Muffin Mix. You may have a box of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix in your kitchen already, but in our opinion it continues to be the best option for sweet and savory cornbread. Size: 8.5 ounces | Servings Per Container: 6 | Allergens: Wheat "I grew up in Kentucky, and we add anything from blue cheese to honey to jazz up this iconic cornbread mix, which never fails to pair perfectly with any type of meat slathered in barbecue sauce." "Jiffy's mix is so easy to customize," says Commerce Updates Editor Amanda McDonald. Plus, it is incredibly versatile-and we know a thing or two about playing up the sweet or savory taste. It can get a bit too crumbly if you over bake it, though." "It’s absolutely delicious and makes just the right amount. "My family has always used Jiffy to make cornbread muffins as a side for chili or to make a sweet johnny cake breakfast," says Staff Writer Allison Wignall. It's truly a favorite among The Spruce Eats team. A vegetarian version of this mix is also available, but most users prefer the flavor and texture of the original mix. The price is also small, making this favorite also very affordable, which makes stocking up easy. The small boxes don’t take a lot of space, but are just that-puny. If you’re feeding a crowd, a double recipe is just as easy. Recipes abound for using this mix for corn pudding, for making it sweeter, or with other adjustments that personalize the cornbread.Ī single box makes enough cornbread to be baked in a standard 8-inch square or an 8-inch round cake pan, or even in your favorite cast-iron skillet, so it’s a nice amount for a small family. It’s not too sweet, not too savory, and it’s simple to make using just milk and egg. While it’s called a corn muffin mix, this classic box mix has a lot of fans who rate it number one for cornbread. According to James McGaugh, "Her autobiographical memory, while incredible, is also selective and even ordinary in some respects". Price displays considerable difficulty in memorizing allocentric information. Others who have hyperthymesia may not display any of these traits, however. This can make it difficult to attend to the present or future, as she is often spending time re-living the past. Price is prone to getting lost in remembering. She described her recollection as "non-stop, uncontrollable and totally exhausting" and as "a burden". The constant, irrepressible stream of memories has caused significant disruption to Price's life. Hyperthymestic abilities can have a detrimental effect. Another striking parallel drawn between the two cases was that Shereshevsky exemplified an interesting case of synesthesia and it has been suggested that superior autobiographical memory is intimately tied to time-space synesthesia. Hyperthymestic individuals appear to have poorer than average memory for arbitrary information. In fact, she was not very good at memorization in general, according to the study published in Neurocase. Shereshevsky could memorize virtually unlimited amounts of information deliberately, while Price could not – she could only remember autobiographical information (and events she had personally seen on the news or read about). As the first documented hyperthymestic, Jill Price was quite different from the famous case of mnemonist Solomon Shereshevsky (as documented by psychologist Alexander Luria). Like autistic savants, some individuals with hyperthymesia may also have an unusual and obsessive interest in dates. Rather, hyperthymestic recall tends to be constrained to a person's lifetime and is believed to be a subconscious process.Īlthough people showing a high level of hyperthymesia are not regarded as autistic, certain similarities exist between the two conditions. Despite perhaps being able to remember the day of the week on which a particular date fell, hyperthymestics are not calendrical calculators, like some people with savant syndrome. This extensive and highly unusual memory does not derive from the use of mnemonic strategies it is encoded involuntarily and retrieved automatically. Memories recalled by hyperthymestic individuals tend to be personal, autobiographical accounts of both significant and mundane events in their lives. There is a distinction between those with hyperthymesia and those with other forms of exceptional memory, who generally use mnemonic or similar rehearsal strategies to memorize long strings of information. One day after several hours together, she was asked to close her eyes and tell what her two interviewers were wearing. While memories are reported as vivid, they are not exact recordings of all experiences, as seen in the case of Jill Price, then anonymised as "AJ": Īlthough she describes her mind like having a movie running, she is not recording her world verbatim in its totality. Those affected describe their memories as uncontrollable associations when they encounter a date, they "see" a vivid depiction of that day in their heads without hesitation or conscious effort. Individuals with hyperthymesia can extensively recall the events of their lives, as well as public events that hold some personal significance to them. The authors wrote that they derived the word from Ancient Greek: hyper- ("excessive") and thymesis ("remembering"), which may allude to the Greek enthymesis, which means "consideration", and is derived from thymos "mind". Īmerican neurobiologists Elizabeth Parker, Larry Cahill, and James McGaugh (2006) identified two defining characteristics of hyperthymesia: spending an excessive amount of time thinking about one's past, and displaying an extraordinary ability to recall specific events from one's past. One who has hyperthymesia is called a hyperthymesiac. It is extraordinarily rare, with only 62 people in the world having been diagnosed with the condition as of 2021. Hyperthymesia, also known as hyperthymestic syndrome or highly superior autobiographical memory ( HSAM), is a condition that leads people to be able to remember an abnormally large number of their life experiences in vivid detail. Psychology, psychiatry, neurology, neuropsychology Hyperthymestic syndrome, highly superior autobiographical memory (HSAM) Pastor Osteen will inspire you to see that a life-changing attitude begins in your own mind: "When you break through in your mind, believing you can rise higher and overcome obstacles, then God will unleash the power within that will enable you to go beyond the ordinary into the extraordinary life you were designed to live. There wasn't much information about this so there was a lot of trial and error. It took me and another AV guy two months to figure this out on our own. I know this sounds complicated, but when you do it a couple times it gets easier. Then we have an IP source which talks to Desktop Presenter and sends us all the Proclaim stuff. So inside of WireCast we have the camera sources, which all use the main cameras audio. The main camera will carry the audio to his computer. We have a BlackMagic video capture card which allows us to hook up the cameras to this computer. The Streaming computer runs WireCast only. Instead we have all the audio routed to the soundboard and then into the main camera. DP is set to capture the secondary monitor and we do not have it capturing audio because it's too delayed. It is also hooked up to a primary monitor and secondary monitor (primary for the operator and secondary for all the screens in the sanctuary). The Presentation computer runs Proclaim and Desktop Presenter. One computer is used as presentation/audio, and the second is only used to stream. We use a software called WireCast to stream the services however, you could also use this to broadcast to monitors and screens in the church. Our church does this every Sunday, but not in the way you're thinking. Payton’s offense is still not clicking for the entire game. That is cause for reevaluation of what this team is, and what it could be. The Broncos of late October and November have found ways to win games. The Denver Broncos of September would have found ways to lose those games. There is so much still to do.īut again, Ian reminded me that the last 3 wins for the Broncos would have been losses early in the season. The offense didn’t run the ball well, and hasn’t taken advantage of all the turnovers the defense has forced in the last two games. I told Ian on BOE that I wasn’t sure if I was excited about they way the Broncos beat the Vikings. What has happened on this short trip down memory lane? Well, an evolution might be a bit hyperbolic, but something has changed for the Broncos. A last second win on Monday night in Buffalo followed by another nail biter against the Vikings on Sunday night and Denver is finding itself listed as “in the hunt” for the NFL Playoffs. Then a win against the Packers followed by a victory over the Chiefs for the first time in a football lifetime. A close loss to the Kansas City Chiefs may have been the catalyst to something that has fans wrapped up in the season’s turnaround. There was a little switch that was flipped. After starting 1-5, and handing Nathaniel Hackett his “Rudy Game” as Ian called it on BOE, the season was lost and it was time to break out the tanks. What was that? Aside from being a horrendous start to the season, it was the growing pains of a franchise that has been bad for so long that they didn’t know what winning felt like anymore. A time when all of Broncos Country was stunned by the awful start to what was supposed to be a promising season. A time when the Denver Broncos started the season 0-3, and couldn’t find a way to get a win. A short trip to an awful time of just a couple months ago. I want you to take a trip back in time with me.
