![]() ![]() ![]() Payton’s offense is still not clicking for the entire game. That is cause for reevaluation of what this team is, and what it could be. The Broncos of late October and November have found ways to win games. The Denver Broncos of September would have found ways to lose those games. There is so much still to do.īut again, Ian reminded me that the last 3 wins for the Broncos would have been losses early in the season. The offense didn’t run the ball well, and hasn’t taken advantage of all the turnovers the defense has forced in the last two games. I told Ian on BOE that I wasn’t sure if I was excited about they way the Broncos beat the Vikings. What has happened on this short trip down memory lane? Well, an evolution might be a bit hyperbolic, but something has changed for the Broncos. A last second win on Monday night in Buffalo followed by another nail biter against the Vikings on Sunday night and Denver is finding itself listed as “in the hunt” for the NFL Playoffs. Then a win against the Packers followed by a victory over the Chiefs for the first time in a football lifetime. A close loss to the Kansas City Chiefs may have been the catalyst to something that has fans wrapped up in the season’s turnaround. There was a little switch that was flipped. After starting 1-5, and handing Nathaniel Hackett his “Rudy Game” as Ian called it on BOE, the season was lost and it was time to break out the tanks. What was that? Aside from being a horrendous start to the season, it was the growing pains of a franchise that has been bad for so long that they didn’t know what winning felt like anymore. A time when all of Broncos Country was stunned by the awful start to what was supposed to be a promising season. A time when the Denver Broncos started the season 0-3, and couldn’t find a way to get a win. A short trip to an awful time of just a couple months ago. ![]() I want you to take a trip back in time with me. ![]()
